    Join us for ULI Cincinnati's second annual Legends in Real Estate event featuring legends Bill Butler and Mike Schueler. This event will be a sharing of stories, challenges and successes, providing never before shared information in an unfiltered casual conversation format followed by a reception celebrating the region's built environment. Participants will have a chance to get to know these legends and gain insights and perspectives that will allow others to continue their passions long into the future.

    Mike Schueler

    Schueler Group, Inc.

    Mike Schueler has a deep commitment to the communities of Southwest Ohio. The Schueler Group is a fully integrated, multi-company structure that ensures it is a single point of contact for a comprehensive set of real estate development and construction services. As president and CEO, Mike is personally involved in each project, whether it involves brokerage, development, construction, or site management for newly built facilities. The Schueler Group has completed commercial developments for numerous companies throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic — as far south as Georgia and as far east as Maryland. Mike is committed to giving back to the community with both past and present involvement in Mount St. Joseph University, University of Cincinnati, Warren County Republican Party, Urban Land Institute, and various chambers of commerce. He earned a B.S. from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago School of Business and an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Mount St. Joseph. Mike and his wife, Digi, are active throughout the Greater Cincinnati area with social service and arts organizations.

    William Butler

    Chairman, Corporex Companies, LLC

    Bill Butler is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to Corporex Companies, LLC. Since 1965, Bill has been the driving force behind the growth of the Corporex Companies, from a one-man construction shop to diversified real estate company with more than $1 billion of real estate assets. From its humble beginnings as the W.P. Butler Construction Company, Corporex has grown into a diversified, vertically-integrated real estate firm comprising Corporex Development and Construction Management, Commonwealth Hotels, Five Seasons Sports Clubs, Corporex Realty and Investment and Corporex Capital. Additionally, Bill sponsored the formation of Eagle Hospitality Properties Trust where he was Chairman of the Board from inception in 2004 through its sale in 2007. Bill is dedicated to community service and fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. He founded The Butler Foundation and Life Learning Center, which provide community services in Greater Cincinnati. In addition, he currently serves or has served on the boards of United Way of Greater Cincinnati, the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Lindner Center of Hope, the Metropolitan Club, the Catalytic Development Funding Corporation of Northern Kentucky, Bexion Pharmaceuticals, and Roebling Capital Partners. He is a multi-level member of United Way’s Million Dollar Roundtable; and the Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Bill has been actively involved in the acquisition, development, construction and financing of major real estate properties for over 57 years. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
