Bold Moves in Price Hill
Major changes are coming to Pinecrest. CMHA invites you to join us for the Ceremonial "Reno Day" virtually at 11 am on September 1, 2020.
Twenty short films are screening over two nights and have all been featured in Better Cities Film Festival. WIF Cincinnati selected these 20 for their relevance to urban issues we face here — making Cincinnati more bike and pedestrian friendly, increasing affordable housing, minority entrepreneurship and racial equity, and building sustainably.
For true urbanists, buy a walk-in/bike-in ticket for $10, BYO chair/blanket and FM radio so you can tune into the cinema sound. Hollywood Drive-in accommodates only 40 vehicles, so buy your $25 ticket now before they sell out!
On September 26 films by women make up the entire first half of the program. On October 3, half the films are by female filmmakers. Highlighting women working in the industry is an important part of WIF Cincinnati’s mission.
Thank you to sponsors: Haile Foundation, MVAH Partners, First Financial Bank, Reser Bicycle Outfitters, Urban Land Institute Cincinnati, Green Umbrella, The Port, Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance, Cincinnati Development Fund, Cincinnati Recreation Commission and Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Nothing is more inspiring than a powerful story! So, the event has a venue to engage in post-film discussion led by Cincinnati City Councilmembers, 10-11 pm at Brink Brewing, across from Hollywood Drive-in. Councilmember Greg Landsman leads on September 26 and Councilmember Jan-Michele Kearney leads on October 3.
The event has celebrity emcees, too! They will help WIF raffle off wonderful prizes at intermission and after films end. Channel 9 Cincy Lifestyles Anchor Mona Morrow is the emcee September 26 and Local 12 Reporter Angela Ingram is the emcee October 3.
Raffle prizes include a basket of delicious chocolates, a portable outdoor movie setup, and private yoga lessons. See the full list on the event’s web page. Raffle tickets are $8 and are for sale on the event page, and at the event. Bring your raffle receipt with you to the event to drop your tickets into the baskets of prizes that you hope to win.
Women in Film Cincinnati members receive a free raffle ticket! If you’d like to join the organization, they’d love to have you. WIFCincinnati
