It’s back! ULI and the UC have announced the fall 2015 course Case Competition — with a $5000 team prize. The Niehoff Urban Studio, the University of Cincinnati Real Estate Center, and the Urban Land Institute Cincinnati will again partner to offer UC students a great professional experience in Fall 2015. Modeled after the annual national ULI Hines Competition, this course assigns three to four-person interdisciplinary teams to design a community-requested real estate development project on a designated local site.
Student teams will produce site plans, architectural designs, and real estate pro formas. A group of ULI professionals, including architects, developers, and engineers mentor the teams, along with UC faculty Frank Russell (Architect/Urban Designer-UC Niehoff Urban Studio) and Shaun Bond (UC Real Estate Center). This year’s local ULI competition will award a $5000 prize to the wining team and job interview opportunities with the 12 sponsoring architecture, planning, and development firms. The course consists of 10 class meetings, culminating in a final presentation event to a panel of judges.
How can you help? Volunteer to be a mentor throughout the course or a judge of the case competition. Contact ULI Cincinnati for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
