    Can the addition of affordable housing to Cincinnati's CROWN Urban Trail plan bring unique funding opportunities and eventual completion of the entire trail loop?  Join us as our 2021 18 Hour City Series will accelerate the completion of the 34-mile CROWN urban trail loop to improve equity and the development of affordable housing in underserved communities. 

    Beginning January 14, 2021, we will host local and national panelists to help think through and publish a recommended strategy and action plan for the CROWN bike and pedestrian urban trail. 

    In partnership with Tri-State Trails, ULI Cincinnati will host a series of six workshops designed to take participants through the acceleration process. We have significantly discounted the price of the series for participation throughout the 2021 18 Hour City Series. We want to lead this like a Technical Assistance Panel with a focus on ensuring unfunded stretches of the CROWN are equitably prioritized. Participant expertise will be included in the recommendation.
     
    Each session will feature a moderator with panelists and guest presenters presenting a program designed to provide information, engage and assist in the participants' development of the plan.

    January 14 – Creating Successful Urban Trails
    Moderated by Wade Johnston, AICP, Director, Tri-State Trails

    Join Wade Johnston, Tri-State Trails, Tyrone Rachal, Decide DeKalb Development Authority and Ed McMahon, Senior Resident Fellow, ULI as they share information and experience to help participants understand the routes, hurdles, opportunities, funding needs and why the CROWN and this project overall is important. What can we do to ensure that Greater Cincinnati isn't left behind? This first of six sessions will include a focus on Atlanta's urban trail, the BeltLine, as a link to affordable housing and to prioritize equitability.

    May 20 – Understanding Urban Trail Design Challenges

    July 8 – Completing the CROWN Strategy and Funding
    Moderated by Christine Russell, Vice President of Strategy, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED

    September 9 – Completing the CROWN Action Plan
    Moderated by Christine Russell, Vice President of Strategy, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED

    November 11 – CROWN Plan Critique and Feedback
    Moderated by Tammy Riddle, Vice President of Commercial Growth & Development, Oswald Company

    WHERE

    The January session will be held virtually via Zoom. The March, May, July, September and November sessions are currently planned as hybrid sessions, being offered in-person at Taft Center (425 Walnut Street, Downtown Cincinnati) following strict social distancing protocol and via Zoom.

    Members - $15 per session or $75 per series
    Non-Members - $20 per session or $100 per series

    Registration for the Series will be available through May 20, 2021.

    Individuals from Annual Sponsoring Companies with available credits may register for the series only (not individual session) and registration is transferrable between individuals. Those from sponsoring companies using credits should register by emailing [email protected].

    Individuals may transfer their registrations by notifying ULI Cincinnati. Cancellations must be received at least five business days in advance for a refund.

    Registration is limited to 100 people, including those in-person and virtually. Registration will remain open until the day of each session based on availability.
