September 25, 2019: Mayor John Cranley announced “The Cincinnati miracle is here, the comeback has happened”. He was referring to the 18-story high rise, anchored by the 2-story 45,000 square foot Kroger On The Rhine, featuring a 560-space public parking garage from 3CDC, and home to 1010 On The Rhine, 8 floors of luxury apartments starting on the 11th floor of the building. Kroger On The Rhine and 1010 On The Rhine represent a strong public-private partnership and hope to be the catalyst for new development around Court Street and a new “On The Rhine” neighborhood that bridges the divide between OTR and the CBD. This almost $91 million project was a parking lot owned by Rookwood Properties a little over 2 years ago. Development partners Rookwood Properties, North American Properties, and NorthPointe Group came together with Kroger, 3CDC, the city of Cincinnati, The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, and many other to build what you see now. GBBN served as the architect and Turner Construction acted as the general contractor.
Situated just “On The Rhine” on Central Parkway bridging Over The Rhine and the Central Business District, the 139-unit luxury apartment community features 11 unique floorplans, ranging from Studios, 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom options. Since the apartments begin on the 11th floor, all residents will experience expansive, unobstructed views of Cincinnati, through floor-to-ceiling windows, with select units including large private balconies that give a taste of the city’s energy from above. You’ll get to tour our model apartments and experience our beautiful amenity spaces, all located on the 18th floor, which feature a fitness room overlooking Mt. Adams, a state-of-the-art community space, and a rooftop patio with complete views of downtown Cincinnati.
You’ll hear from the principle owners and developers of 1010 On The Rhine when you’re at the Real Deal. You’ll hear about the acquisitions of land that made this building possible, the vision for what this piece of land could be when it was just a parking lot, how we got Kroger onboard, how 3 different development and management companies came together for this one apartment community, and what it was like collaborating with so many different entities to make a project of this magnitude a success.
