ULI Cincinnati has dedicated their 2022 18 Hour City Series to assist with the implementation of the recommendations that came out of the 2021 How Transit Oriented Development Can Build a Better Cincinnati TAP Report. Through a series of panel discussions and interactive conversations, the organization will develop implementation outlines and next steps for the best-in-class principles that came from the Technical Assistance Panel assembled in 2021. These will be used for smart, equitable, sustainable strategies supporting the creation of TOD policies that promote growth in the City of Cincinnati and the region.
During this second session, panelists will explore zoning and other regulatory reform, issues listed as top challenges by the TAP participants. Two specific reforms that will be discussed include encouraging pedestrian and transit centric development patterns around transit through enacting a Transit Oriented Development Overlay District along major corridors and further streamlining development by encouraging "byright" developments in the zoning code.
