YLG Project Spotlight: West End Housing
Join us for our YLG Project Spotlight Series featuring projects ULI Cincinnati’s young leaders have been involved with completing.
On April 18, 2019, please join us in the West End to hear from community leaders from Seven Hills and Port staff about one of the City’s first equitable partnerships to neighborhood revitalization. In 2016 the West End community went through a quality of life planning process led by Seven Hills that resulted in the West End Speaks Plan. When the plan was created it did not contemplate a multi-million dollar soccer stadium being built in the neighborhood. In addition, the events leading up to the approval of the stadium and creation of a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) between FC Cincinnati and the West End community led to fractured relationships between residents, community organizations and institutions. As part of the CBA Cincinnati a housing study has been commissioned to research baseline conditions of the West End and to make recommendations on how to prevent displacement and create equitable development. Additionally, an MOU has also been created between Seven Hills and the Port to ensure there is a strong partnership with the community on projects where the Port is involved. Following the presentation there will be a tour of the Baymiller row houses.
