Meet our featured CEO, Peg Moertl. Peg is the new President and CEO of HCDC, Inc., starting with the organization in April of 2018. She came to HCDC from PNC Bank, where she served as Senior Vice President of Community Development Banking for nearly 15 years, leading teams responsible for community development loans/investments, grant-making and sponsorships, along with increasing small business lending in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods using creative bank-community partnerships.
Peg also was Director of Development at the City of Cincinnati, Executive Director of Women Entrepreneurs, Inc., and helped develop the region’s first microloan program. She’s served on boards of numerous community development and human service agencies including the Greater Ohio Policy Center, Urban League, Cincinnati Development Fund, Urban Land Institute, Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation, and Strategies to End Homelessness.
Peg’s background has allowed her to be well-prepared to lead HCDC and its three-focused program areas. Her past work with small businesses fits well with the HCDC Business Center, which houses more than 80 startup companies. Her previous economic development work through community development gives her a good background for leading HCDC’s Economic Development Office. Additionally, Peg’s banking background at PNC meshes with HCDC’s SBA lending segment.
