ULI Hines Student Competition Celebration
Cincinnati Receives North American Honors in ULI Hines Student Competition
Join ULI Cincinnati, the UC Real Estate Program and Center and UC College of DAAP’s Niehoff Urban Studio on March 26 to celebrate our teams from the University of Cincinnati who entered this year’s ULI Hines Student Competition. The Competition challenges students to collaborate across disciplines and imagine a better built environment. Groups of five students form teams to devise a development program for a real site in a North American city, providing designs, market-based financial data, and related narratives. This year Toronto served as the host city, with a challenge to develop a comprehensive development in an area near the mouth of the Don River.
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Hines Student Competition has given two of our three teams from UC an Honorable Mention Recognition. With more than 130 submissions, 4 teams were named finalists and 7 received honorable mentions. The teams locally were “The Fuse” and “The Transition.” Kudos to Planning and Landscape Architecture students and faculty, Frank Russell and Conrad Kickert, who led and participated in the Urban Land Institute national student competition. Meet members of the three teams of future planners, architects, real estate professionals and landscape architects at a reception honoring their accomplishments.
