AIA's Vision Keynote: Justice is Beauty on Jan 16
VISION is the Architect's Leadership Forum of AIA Cincinnati dedicated to professional advancement, firm development and community outreach.
POSTPONED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS. WILL BE UPDATED. This all-day event has been organized to bring together local government leaders, non-profit organizations, economic development professionals, educators, housing experts, academics and students, government experts, and more to discuss the changing landscape of Hamilton County’s suburban communities. You will learn, share, and make meaningful connections that will enable our county’s suburbs to thrive and prosper.
Full economic recovery still eludes too many of our region’s neighborhoods, even though more than a decade has passed since the Great Recession. Many of Hamilton County’s political jurisdictions have growing levels of poverty, aging housing stock, deferred infrastructure investment needs, and few opportunities to grow the tax base. The “Connecting the Dots Summit” will help civic leaders learn and build relationships which will help to improve the quality of life across the County’s diverse suburbs.
The day will consist of 10 consecutive sessions that will be hosted by Hamilton County’s leading experts. Sessions include: Strategic Governance With Shrinking Fiscal Resources, Getting the Puzzle Pieces to Put Together: Land Assemblage Tips and Best Practices Development, Getting Good Jobs for Great Residents: Workforce Development, and many more.
Featured speakers include County Commissioner Denise Driehaus, Ohio State University professor and author of Once the American Dream: Inner-Ring Suburbs of the Metropolitan United States Bernadette Hanlon, University of Cincinnati Professor Dr. Brandi Blessett, SORTA President Darryl Haley, and many more.
