UC-ULI Cincinnati Case Competition Winners Announced

Congratulations to the winners of the first University of Cincinnati -ULI Cincinnati Case Competition. The team of Kyle Zook (Architecture-DAAP), Bahareh Rezaee (Planning-DAAP), Yue Yan (Planning-DAAP) and Rocky Grewal (Finance-Lindner College of Business) was awarded the competition’s $5,000 prize for their proposal of Firehouse Row in the neighborhood of Walnut Hills. The winning design addressed three blocks of McMillan Street near the center of Walnut Hills, dubbed Firehouse Row,  a location well-suited for infill since each lot is primarily vacant and surrounded by neighborhood residences. UC students present final cases in the UC-ULI Urban Development Competition Oct 27

ULI and UC Launch Studio Competition Course

This fall, up to 16 UC students will form teams and compete in a case course modeled after the ULI Hines Student Urban Design Program. Interdisciplinary teams will produce site plans, architectural designs, and real estate pro formas. All students enrolled are eligible for independent study course credit and the winning case team will receive a $5000 award. ULI Cincinnati awards grant for Building Healthy Places initiative

ULI Cincinnati Spring Membership survey 2014: The results are in!

Thanks to all who participated in the spring ULI survey. A few highlights from the results: Over 70% responded that they choose their primary reason for engaging with ULI because: ULI is the Thought Leader for urban development, for its Networking Opportunities with the industry leaders, and for Program content. The most recognized ULI event by far was the Emerging Trends Conference 74%, followed by Real Deal programs (41%) and Young Leaders (YLG) Happy Hour events (40%.) Recovering from Recovery: Cincinnati’s Emerging Trends 2014

On January 15, ULI Cincinnati held its Emerging Trends conference, with keynote speaker Andrew Warren, Director of Real Estate Research for PwC. Warren addressed global and regional trends that are shaping the economy, from accelerating  global urbanization to significant demographic shifts.
